This position supervises the maintenance function and staff ensuring that the facility is maintained in
accordance with company standards
Key Responsibilities:
- Abides by all safety procedures and practices applicable to location and position; participates is appropriate safety training; demonstrates commitment to and support of SH&E principles and values; champions safety as necessary
- Plans, organizes, leads, and controls daily activities of the Maintenance department
- Supervises maintenance staff; coaches, develops, trains, and evaluates maintenance employees; oversees on-site contractors
- Conducts training and safety meetings for maintenance staff
- Prepares preventive maintenance reports and forms; maintains company files
- Controls parts and inventory purchasing; tracks parts and inventory using financial and database software programs
- Schedules and coordinates repairs and projects to meet requirements; enhances overall reliability of instrumentation and electrical equipment at the facility
- Ensures maintenance staff knows parameters and workings of all equipment, control systems and processes at facility
- Understands and develops ladder logic
- Responds to operational needs; troubleshoots equipment and process problems
- Approves and monitors overtime; tracks attendance; schedules leaves
- Maintains safety; ensures good housekeeping in work areas
- Reviews and understands safety policies and procedures
- Participates in safety training; verifies staff is trained in all safety policies and procedures
- Monitors on-site communications ensuring proper handling of daily work and safety issues that may arise
- Trains regularly on all Federal, state and local environmental regulations, requirements and guidelines including, but not limited to, RCRA requirements; follows and adheres to all guidelines, regulations, and requirements
- Acts with the delegated authority of the Maintenance Manager in his/her absence
- Performs other duties assigned by management that fall within the generally expected scope of this position
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience
- 5 - 7 years experience in instrumentation and electrical field
- Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written; Spanish language skills helpful; listening skills; experience creating and delivering presentations
- Experience working with Federal, state and local environmental regulations including RCRA
- Ability to prioritize and set goals; skilled in detail orientation, monitoring and follow through
- Good understanding of environmental, DOT, USCG, safety, health and regulatory requirements
- Customer service focus including the ability to communicate diplomatically; problem solver
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office, JDE System and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite, various email and internet programs and applications, financial software programs
Qualifications Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Electrical Journeyman State Licensed or Technical Degree preferred
