ROLE: Quality Inspector - Structural Steel
My client is a market leading engineering and steel fabrication business based in Essex.
We are looking to recruit a Quality Inspector with experience in a similar role working with mild steel and stainless steel fabrication
Responsibilities of the role:
-Responsible for fabrication Final Inspection
- Weld Inspection
- MPI Weld testing
- Dry Film Thickness
-Provide sub contract fabricator QC surveillance checks and weld inspection at SC premises, dictated by project requirements and ISO9001.
-Ensure adherence to project Fabrication & QC Inspection & test plans
Conduct random shop floor inspection for;
- Process related checks
- Shot Blast 2.5/Pattern
- Saw checks
- Drill checks
- Coatings (thickness/spray pattern)
-Raise NCR's/report/action/close and where possible instigate corrective actions (in accordance with BSL PM 1.02 non-conforming product)
-Assist in providing KPI data (no of NCR's, fault type, No of Items inspected etc.) for submission
-Ensure all inspection quality control records are completed and maintained correctly and saved in appropriate contract file.
-Provide support to Responsible Weld Coordinator
-Provide support to the Production department regarding quality matters as required.
- Through your attitude and conduct, set an example to others
- Full understanding of H&S procedures
- Actively participate in safety initiatives and communicate any suggestions to improving work activities to improve safety.
