Tanks, pumps, pipelines, valves, gaugesParticipation in the management of the supply chain and project costs of construction/fuels projects to ensure the overall financial success of a project.Measurement and valuation of works in progress in-accordance with industry standard forms of method of measurement and contract.Analysis of rates and prices, agreement of early warning and compensation events (variations).Responsible for the commercial management of all or part of a project and/or a number of trade packages within the project. Circa £5m per annum on averageUK Based role, international projects - Either home working, Birmingham or London BaseOccasional, infrequent travel to site if require Responsibilities To ensure the full and proper implementation of the Company's Procedures;To generate/maintain relevant records, accurate filing and support for all commercial functions;To ensure the prompt and regular submission of main contract payment applications and subsequent cash collection together with the preparation of sub-contractor payments;To prepare draft sub-contracts to the level of responsibility delegated by the individual's supervisor;To monitor sub-contractor performance in consultation with senior staff;To participate in pricing variations/design cost control/value engineering;To participate in the recording of delays & preparation of any request for extensions of time;To participate in the settlement of main contract final accounts;To attend meetings with other stakeholders (if so delegated to do);To assist senior staff in the compilation of data to monitor individual contract performance on a monthly and quarterly basis;To apply a neat and accurate approach in all day to day activities and to strive to enhance one's own professional capability;Possible future project managementAny other duties relevant to the role. What we are looking for: Experience of working on a live project, undertaking measurement and valuation functions; ideally fuel infrastructure relatedExperience of managing low risk sub-contractors;Experience of processing subcontract payments;Understanding of Projects/construction (Building, Mech, Electrical and Civils, Downsream Fuels Projects )Basic knowledge of different industry contracts;Basic understanding of risk in construction process;Basic understanding of the relevance of the construction programme.Adept at understanding construction drawings and able to measure and take off accurately;Understanding of the inter-relationship between bills, specifications and drawings;Understanding the importance of Company Procedures;Understanding of construction contracts in relation to projects and of the relevance of sub contract terms and conditions;Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined team;Able to prioritise and work to one's own initiative;Ability to communicate effectively with a range of people;Able to read a construction programme and relevance of the critical path (desirable);Understanding of H&S issues at work (desirable);Awareness of dispute resolution procedures (desirable).Possible future project management capability
