My client is looking to recruit an area based Senior Planner with demonstrable track record who can operate on site delivering an NEC Contract Programme. The successful candidate will who will report to the Area General Manager and oversee the effective and efficient maintenance of the programme. Your duties will include:Develop and maintain the contractors plan in accordance to the contract.Manage and control programme information.Allocate resources.Assist with the financial progress and performance reporting.Preparation of programme and method information.Develop the tender programme into a fully integrated Design, procurement and project programme. Ideal Qualifications include:Degree / HNC / HNDProgramme delivery experience within the Highways Sector.Demonstrable experience in leadership and resource allocation.Experience in risk identification and assessment.Detailed knowledge and experience of managing and maintaining a works programme.Knowledge of Asta, the full MS Office suite including Project, Project Server and SharePoint. This is a varied and busy role that will require you to support investment and project managers. As well as taking a lead role in managing and implementing capital projects within the division.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the definition of capital investment projects, letting of contracts and project management throughout the lifecycle. Day-to-day activities includes ensuring operations requirements are met through the engineering and construction delivery programme. This will be done by providing operations liaison, developing communication channels with all stakeholders and producing/presenting reports. In addition, you will need to have an active on-site presence to ensure the smooth running of all projects.
The ideal candidate will be from a supply/wastewater orientated engineering discipline, with experience in the designing, construction, management and commissioning of mechanical and electrical, automation and telemetry based projects.
You will be familiar with working in a technical engineering environment and delivering smaller projects to statutory requirements. It is preferred that you are computer literate with knowledge of CDM regulations You should also hold an EMI (electrical, mechanical and instrumental) and/or engineering HNC or above. Most of all, you will be an effective team member who has proven communication and commercial skills, with a commitment and drive to work under pressure and effectively resolve issues.
