My client is looking to recruit an area based Senior Planner with demonstrable track record who can operate on site delivering an NEC Contract Programme. The successful candidate will who will report to the Area General Manager and oversee the effective and efficient maintenance of the programme. Your duties will include:Develop and maintain the contractors plan in accordance to the contract.Manage and control programme information.Allocate resources.Assist with the financial progress and performance reporting.Preparation of programme and method information.Develop the tender programme into a fully integrated Design, procurement and project programme. Ideal Qualifications include:Degree / HNC / HNDProgramme delivery experience within the Highways Sector.Demonstrable experience in leadership and resource allocation.Experience in risk identification and assessment.Detailed knowledge and experience of managing and maintaining a works programme.Knowledge of Asta, the full MS Office suite including Project, Project Server and SharePoint. The company design, fabricate and erect steelwork structures in the industrial, commercial, retail and leisure sectors. The successful applicant will work closely with and report directly to, the Managing Director. The company benefits from a very flat structure, giving you the autonomy to structure your own schedule and allowing your results to be recognised and rewarded as such.
The successful applicant will take off all steel work from architects and engineers drawings alike as well as from material lists produced from 3D steel drafting systems used internally and by external detailed.
The successful application will liaise with other internal departments as well as external third parties such as architects and engineers when required. You will also be involved in helping to order and process orders for the steelwork and associated materials,so the role does have a good variety of work to it.
You must be proficient with standard Microsoft office applications, but particularly experienced in using excel. Any experience using any propriety Estimating or MIS systems would be useful but not at all essential.
The successful applicant must have at least two years experience of estimating structural steelwork and preferably having worked within a structural steelwork fabrication company. Knowledge of associated building elements and materials such as cladding would be an advantage.
